What is a consultation visit: The consultation visit is for you to be able to meet your pet sitter, as well as for your pet sitter to be able to meet your pets, go over their daily routine, and pick up your key. During this time we will go over all the necessary paperwork, pricing, and details of your pet sit. Each visit is custom tailored to your pets, their needs, and their routine.
Why do you need my Key? Having your key allows us access to your pets while you are not in. If you prefer to give us a garage door opener or access code that works as well. However due to the grounds that technology can fail we prefer to have a back up key accessible incase of power failure or other situations where they may not work. We keep all our keys in a safe secure location with no indicators as to who’s key it is or where you might live.
What is done during a Pet sit and or walk? This will be dependent on the length of the visit. Shorter visits are perfect for turning your pet out or checking up on it seeing that it has its needs met. Longer visits include time for play, walking, bringing mail in, watering plants, walks, trail hikes, checking doors and windows and light rotation.
Can you give medications or do special grooming items? We can administer medications orally however for IV or injections and inoculations we are unable to at this time. For grooming basic brushing and combing is available on longer visits.
Can I tip my sitter? Absolutely.
Will I have the same sitter each visit? Yes the only time you may not is on a weekend visit or if your sitter becomes incapacitated due to illness or emergency. In which case Teresa, Mike, or Connor will be there to fill in.
Do you do in home day care or boarding? No at this time we are not licensed or zoned to bring other animals into our home.
What are my requirements to have my pet cared for? Your pet must be up to date on all shots and vaccinations before we are able to take them on walks or park visits. This is for the protection of your pet as well as others. If your local city has an ordinance for dog licensing you must have a license for that as well. If your dog is not spayed or neutered we will be unable to take it on walks however we are able to continue providing care in your home and yard for your pet.
Must I sign a contract? Our contracts are not for a long term lock in they are however meant to serve as a protection for you as well as your pet sitter due to being given access to your property. They also grant us permission to seek emergency care for your pet when you are not available.
What kind of pets do you work with? We currently work with all varieties of animals both domestic and exotic. We will also do drop in feed visits on farm animals and horses while you are out of town.
Why shouldn’t I just board my dog or use a day care? Transporting your dog to a kennel or day care can be stressful on your pet. We provide in home care keeping to your pets schedule and routine. It leads to happier pets as well as less time on your part transporting it. It also allows your pet to be kept in a safer environment with less chance of picking up communicable diseases or illnesses. It also allows your pet to remain on your property for protection when you are gone and allows us to give you an added layer of security of property checks when out of town.
Can I book a last minute sit? We prefer you book in advance however if we have a slot available we will be happy to work with you. In a situation where we may not have an available time we will be happy to supply you with the name of another sitter.
What areas do you service? We currently service Rio Rancho, Albuquerque West side, including Paradise Hills and Ventana Ranch, and the Village of Corrales.
What does your licensing and insurance mean to me? By being licensed we are supporting local communities thru our fees and taxation. It protects you as a client against fly by night companies who may not have registered with the local city. Having insurance protects you and your pet as well as our company.
